I Am at the moment recreating personal effects, bags, shoes items of clothing.

Filling the gap between perception and touch.

A life that is no longer as it was for whatever reason. A sense of loss, human absence.
Our possessions often outlast us, so are our possessions able to capture the essence of our being. Leather particularly marks and stains with wear. Are the stains and marks a document of our existence. Those pieces of clothing are almost a diary of a life..

I believe if we learn to have empathy and an emotional connection to our possessions we will look after them and treasure them. They will then become part of who we are and are less likely to be thrown away but instead repaired and reused.

I incorporate elements of the real object in my work - this becomes a marriage of materials.

I like to take photographs of my sculptures in situations that offer a narrative.

I also when not sculpting like to study the fragility of nature and the imprints that the natural world leaves behind. Through detailed pencil drawings/etchings or ink embossed prints.
